Post What would your all LPD Boys Team be?

Tomorrow night is the half way mark of the season, at this point my team is:

    F. Stuart
    T. Garrison
    J. Coleman
    M. Fetchner (sp?)

Last spot is really up for debate imo, I guess at this point since if it ended today PV would win I'd give it to Jordan Martin. Obviously, you could argue Bolling, Josh Allen, and some of the kids from Wise. Obviously, Coach and Player of the Year is a wide open race at this point. If Jervis can pull this thing out with the big Marvin out for an extended period you have to give it to him. Moore would have to be in consideration as well, especially if PV wins this thing, they lost Allen, Turner, Lawson, and Johnson off of last years squad. If Stan somehow gets JIB near the top, you know he's going to get the sympathy vote and I really wouldn't have a problem with Wilson winning it with it being his last season. POY is even more wide open, Stuart has to be the favorite at this point, however I could see Coleman, and PV's two guards Stick and Jordan getting consideration.

I guess this first half really hasn't taught us much of anything, Appy is very good and are unbeaten when the big man plays. PV is solid but has been prone to slip on some nights, JJ Kelly is somewhat of a myster, by far the Indians have the most experience in the league yet they seem to make youthful mistakes, especially at the free throw line, and shot selection, and Burton while not the team we thought they were is still pretty good with Coleman back healthy.

Hard to say at this point, but with the numbers in I would have to give the nod to same bunch you picked. As far as player of the year goes, have to wait on that one, too many games left to play. Some more head to head action to watch. Stuart and Garrison are the best sophmores in the league by far, but I hope this early attention doesnt affect their games.

Would you really include Fetchner considering he has only played in 1 district game thus far? What were his numbers during non-district play? He or Bolling would be the only two logicial choices for big men though. And Bolling has struggled since district play started.

He leads the LPD in rebounding, and obviously is a huge difference maker for Appy. If Appy wins the LPD they will get two kids on all LPD. However saying that, I wouldn't really have a problem with Bolling on the team, it was a shame to see him with the flu last week. It's a pleasure to watch the kid play, I'd like to see he and Marvin match up.

Re: What would your all LPD Boys Team be?

I just checked the stats in the KTN today and saw that Coleman is averaging a double-double. 18 PPG and almost 11 REB, which was 2nd in the Reg D if I am not mistaken, not bad. Hopefully the Raiders will do like always and be ready by Tourney time. It normally takes us a month or so to gel.

Like always, I expect Norton to be a tough out come tourny time.

Re: What would your all LPD Boys Team be?

I made a similar post on the other LPD forum with early picks for All-LPD and All-Region D. I have some of the same picks for district but put Sproles from JJK and Bolling from Pound in my top five. POY imo is definitely Forrest Stuart with Garrison coming in close behind.

Re: What would your all LPD Boys Team be?

I'll buy Bolling > Marvin but Jordan Martin > Sproles. Jordan has been getting his stroke back here recently, took a while to get football worked out of him imo, but he's starting to come along. He's still averaging over 15 ppg on the season and 2-3 assists per game at the 2. At this point there is not a player on JJK's team that deserves all LPD, (not saying that couldn't change but at this point I don't see it.)

Re: What would your all LPD Boys Team be?

I'm very iffy on Fechtner. Obviously he's been a big help for Appalachia in the games he's played, but I haven't seen anything extraordinary from him.

Martin has potential to be a POY in his own right, but he's overshadowed by Garrison, who I think is the better player. Jordan could be all-district by season end.

JJK is probably the most hit and miss team I've seen this year, but I think the talent is there. It's just not clicking from game to game. That's not to say it won't by tournament time.

Re: What would your all LPD Boys Team be?

I love stick to death but if we are down one at the end of the game I'm giving the ball to Jordan right now, he's matured more (older obviously) and has a better chance imo of getting the ball to go down going to the rack. Overall, this season Stick has better numbers, recently imo Jordan has been playing better.
